IT Manager

 

This organisation is a major UK brand serving millions of customers. Customer service is critical to their success and they have and continue to make major investments to ensure they deliver continuous improvements in all aspects of their business.

 

This is a critical role within their business having responsibility for their production environment and the job holder with be a senior member of the overall IS leadership team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Full responsibility for the production IT systems (infrastructure, applications and services) ensuring reliability, cost effectiveness and responsiveness to the business.

• Plan, manage and lead enhancements to the IT systems whilst ensuring no break in service.

• Line management of a number of direct reports and c30 permanent employees within the team.

• Manage relationships with outsource suppliers and other partners tasked with delivering services in to the IT organisation.

• Negotiate and manage SLA’s with suppliers.

• Work closely with the business to understand, plan and implement enhancements ensuring close alignment of service to business needs.

• Manage a multi-million pound budget and ensure continuous focus on cost effectiveness and value.

 

Skills and Experience:

 

• Proven IT leadership skills gained within a complex and demanding environment.

• Previous experience managing an IT production environment including infrastructure, applications and services.

• Good understanding of disaster recovery, capacity planning, IT security, quality and project management methodologies.

• Robust personality with significant energy, determination and commitment to delivery.

• Strong leadership and management abilities.

• Attention to detail but also able to see and understand the bigger picture.

• Able to work closely with the business and translate their needs into deliverables that meet these requirements.

• Able to select, negotiate with and manage external product and service suppliers.

• Able to multi-task and operate effectively under pressure.

• Strong intellect with good communication skills.
