Head of Finance
The post holder is accountable to the Director of Finance and Business Management for the delivery of a comprehensive Finance function of this large health company.
Duties and Responsibilities
*Deputising for the Director of Finance & Business Management
*Ongoing management and development of a large team of finance professionals
*Providing financial analysis that underpins the long-term financial strategy
*Producing an annual financial plan, which delivers the operation plan
*Monitoring actual performance against the plan
*Reviewing the plan and long-term financial strategy in the light of funding and policy changes
*Establishing effective financial systems that allow the company to be fully compliant with current legislation.
*The management of the Operational Plan financial model
*Ensuring the implementation and ongoing development of the budget system for the company
*Communication
The post is required to manage complex information on financial spend, manpower and activity data to produce statutory and other mandatory returns to the Department of Health Strategic Health Authority which needs to stand up to scrutiny by Auditors. Information has to be presented in a clear and understandable way using text, tables and graphs. The post holder needs to be able to explain technical issues to all levels in a way, which is understandable including non-executive and non finance directors.
About You:
The successful applicant will be a qualified accountant who has operated at a senior level in a large organisation and is an effective communicator and achiever. You should also be able to demonstrate team leadership and management skills and have had successful experience of strategic planning, budgeting and financial modelling. |
