Engineer, Electrical Design
Responsible for the design, supervision and production of project drawings and specifications for hospital Electrical Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Designs of hospital electrical services
• Oversees production of project drawings and specifications.
• Checks documents and drawings produced by the design engineers.
• Coordination of electrical services within the building and with all other services.
• Liaises with all other structural and services Engineers.
• Performs other tasks and duties within the scope of the knowledge, skills, and experience required for the job, as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Skills
• A minimum of 10 years progressive post-graduate experience in a design office, with site experience.
• Ability to prepare drawings from initial concept to the finished article. Knowledge of Microstation / Autocad design software.
• Experience in design of Hospital electrical systems
• Knowledge of the American National Electrical Code is desirable.
• Experience in the following areas is also advantageous: -
· Residential
· Office Buildings
· Recreation Centres
• Working knowledge of the following electrical aspects is desirable:-
· Main power (also UPS) and lighting distribution
· Standby generation
· Communication networks and systems
· Fire alarms
· H.V.A.C.
