Principal Structural Engineer - Oil and Gas
Responsibilities
Supervision of structural engineering consultancy work for all types of offshore structures including fixed, floating and subsea
Maintain and develop client relationships
Ensure the provision of efficient high quality structural engineering
Meet cost and time targets to assist Atkins process in delivering high quality consultancy services to oil/gas industry clients
Preparation of prequalification responses, proposals and tenders
Preparation of business and marketing plans
Cost tracking and responsibility for invoicing.
Requirements
Essential
Good (Honours) degree in Civil, Structural or Offshore Engineering
CEng status
Extensive experience in structural engineering, particularly offshore structural engineering
Finite Element analysis
Understanding of wave loading and vessel motions
Good report writing skills
Project management experience
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to cope rapidly with challenging problems.
Desirable
Experience in advanced finite element analysis
Experienced user of the following software:
ABAQUS, SESAM, USFOS, ASAS
Personal Skills

Self-motivating
Potential to progress to Chief Engineer
