Senior Contract Manager

 

Description: Senior Contract Manager

 

We are currently working on behalf of one of the World’s foremost Construction firms that are responsible for new build projects, refurbishment, conversion and fit-out works. They have regional offices in UK, Europe and Middle East.

 

The scope of the job is to manage the efficient and economical execution of contracts under the main contract conditions to produce the maximum return to the Company and to promote possibilities of repeat work with Clients and Consultants.

 

Responsibilities

 

Firm up pre-tender programme and consolidate the construction programme

Promote and develop close working relationships with clients and consultants to maximise return from contracts and possibility of future contracts

Agree contract commencement date relative to the availability of information and materials and ensure support departments are aware of involvement, commencement and planned completion date

Ensure site survey; schedule of conditions and all necessary insurance is in place before commencement of work

Assist in the preparation of tenders by providing method statements, programmes, labour and plant resource charts

Ensure labour, materials, relevant information and drawings are available in good time, with regular monitoring and control meetings to review

Produce and circulate the Construction Phase H&S Plan, ensuring regular review to maintain adherence to safety procedures

Responsible for monitoring delays and evaluating costs of disruption, notifying relevant parties accordingly. Preparing claims for extension of time to contract if necessary

Ensure all relevant information and drawings are available and distributed in good time

Responsible for the development of efficient filing and recording systems, to ensure the records are retained of relevant contract correspondence and documentation for the appropriate time period

Ensure all staff and operatives on sites are adequately trained for duties they have to undertake, to maximise performance of Contracts Division

Responsible for the notification to statutory undertakings when temporary services are no longer required

Ensure outstanding defects and maintenance work are attended to promptly and relevant certificates are issued in good time

Responsible for the development of staff and identification of training needs through conducting appraisal reviews, and in ensuring training is carried out in line with business needs.
