Store Manager

 

Job Purpose:

 

A Store Manager at this level implements the systems, methods, strategy and plans for managing a specific sales location, with accountability for inventory management and staff management, ensuring prescribed sales, productivity, customer, service and profitability targets are met.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

Manages and leads staff for achieving location targets. Plans and prepares work schedules and assigns employees to specific duties. Schedules break periods, work hours, and vacations. Trains staff on store policies, department procedures, and job duties. Orders merchandise and supplies, or prepares requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand. Records delivery of merchandise compares record with merchandise ordered, and reports discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels. Inspects merchandise to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed. Recommends additions to or deletions of merchandise to be sold in store. Prepares and monitors sales, inventory and customer complaints reports. Listens and answers customerx378s complaints and inquires. Examines returned merchandise, and amicably resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations. Assists sales staff in completing difficult sales (sell merchandise). Plans and directs staff preparing, merchandise and promotion displays. Supervises employees engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions, or performs work of subordinates, as needed. Ensures compliance of employees with established location security, sales, cleanliness and record keeping procedures and systems. Utilizes resources to obtain customer feedback regarding own and competition product and price information including conducting market visits. Reports results to management for action. Monitors and evaluates location staff performance and training needs.

 

Skills

 

Bachelor degree in a related field or 7 years relevant sales experience, 5 of which spent on location.

3 - 4 years proven managerial experience.

Proven selling, negotiating, convincing and problem solving skills.

High market and product awareness.

High level of people management skills and customer focus.

High level of verbal & written communication skills (English essential Arabic Preferred)

Sales and customer focused.

High level of systematic thinking & organisation.

Related computer literacy (Microsoft office, related business software e.g. SAP & Business Objects).
