MARKETING EXECUTIVE – RETAIL

 

Job Description

 

Marketing executives are involved in aspects of marketing, including: planning; advertising; promotion; public/media, relations; product development; distribution; sponsorship; and research.

 

Typical Work Activities

·          Developing advertising opportunities, which can involve placing adverts in national and specialist publications.

·          Maintaining and building contacts with the media;

·          Writing and distributing press releases;

·          Preparing photo shoots;

·          Managing the production of marketing materials, including leaflets, posters and flyers - this can involve writing and proofreading copy, and liaising with designers and printers;

·          Arranging for the effective distribution of marketing materials

·          Maintaining and updating mailing databases;

·          Organizing and attending events and exhibitions;

·          Carrying out market research and customer surveys to assess demand, brand positioning and awareness;

·          Evaluating marketing campaigns

·          Monitoring competitor activity

·          Analyzing pricing positions;

·          Contributing to long-term marketing plans and strategies;

·          Managing budgets;

·          Supporting the Marketing Manager, and other colleagues.

 

Skills

 

·          University Degree

·          Excellent organization and communication skills (verbal and written, Arabic and English)

·          Self-motivated, comfortable working independently, with the ability to work within tight deadlines

·          Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential

Experience in Graphic and Design Software (Photoshop or Illustrator) is a must

·          Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, members, and the general public.

·          Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

·          Successful candidates are innovative, self-starters, independent, highly creative workers with good follow-up skills, demanding nothing less than the best, energetic, organized and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

·          Meticulous Planning is required. Approximately 15 events occur per year but require months of planning & development.

Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism or Mass Communication
