Established in Spain at the end of WWII, our client is a key player within the European recycled papermaking and packaging industries. They encourage innovation, creativity and career development in a work environment that is dynamic, challenging and exciting.

 

As part of their aggressive growth strategy, the business entered the UK market in 2006. The next phase will see the development of an additional state of the art manufacturing facility in 2010 which is being led by the UK Project Director. The next pivotal appointment to the business will be a driven; results orientated HR Manager who will be key to launching a new £250m manufacturing business in the UK.

 

The Role

 

Working with the UK Project Director, Group HR Director and HR Project Leader, you will be joining the business at this critical stage in its UK growth strategy. Your initial focus will be to recruit the UK project team for the launch of the new manufacturing facility. You will then drive the recruitment of the site operating teams prior to the site opening in 2010. At this point you will provide a full HR generalist role to the business and continue to support the organisation in its growth strategy. During the first 12-24 months, whilst the UK facility is being established, you will be required to travel to Europe on a regular basis.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Recruitment of the project and operating teams for the new site

Work with external agencies to propose appropriate remuneration and potential relocation packages

Develop, implement and evaluate induction and training programmes to support employee development

Devise and implement a performance review process

Establish a full suite of HR policies and procedures for the UK business

Manage the HR function once the new site is fully operational

 

 

The Person

 

This role is key to the growth of the UK business, so candidates will be of the highest calibre. The successful candidate is likely to:

·          Have a proven track record in providing a professional HR generalist service to a forward thinking, expanding business

·          Be experienced at recruiting a high volume of vacancies

·          Have worked within a unionised, continuous process, manufacturing environment and have been involved in negotiating employee agreements.

·          Have previously worked with external agencies to establish remuneration packages

·          Be CIPD qualified

·          Be fully conversant with all aspects of UK employment law
